Madhu S. Rangraj, MD, FACS is board certified in surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an attending surgeon as well as Chief of the Division of Laparoscopic Surgery at Sound Shore Medical Center-Westchester. He graduated Grant Medical College - one of the oldest institutions teaching western medicine in Asia - received a degree in medicine and surgery and completed his initial general surgery residency. Dr. Rangraj then completed his internship, residency, as well as senior residency in general surgery at Sound Shore Medical Center, formerly New Rochelle Hospital Medical Center.  He is a clinical instructor of surgery at New York Medical College and taught Laparoscopic Colon & Rectal Surgery and Laparoscopic Hernia Repair as a faculty member for U.S. Surgical Corporation. Dr. Rangraj has taught post graduate training in laser application, including laparoscopic and advanced laparoendoscopic and laparoscopic bariatric surgery. He is widely published and has presented at national and international seminars. In 2005, this pioneer in laparoscopic surgery and Sound Shore Medical Center-Westchester received the highest level of approval for the bariatric program - Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He has performed bariatric surgeries for the last six years with good clinical outcomes. The Surgical Weight Loss Center at Sound Shore Medical Center has recorded nearly 600 successful bariatric procedures and is a highly-regarded teaching center that offers bariatric and laparoscopic fellowship training. Dr. Rangraj is a three-time recipient of the Surgical Resident's Attending Teacher of the Year Award at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester. In 2006, he received the Professional of the Year Award from the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and has been named by the Westchester WAG as a Most Distinguished Doctor for Bariatric Surgery.
	Michael Silberstein, MD is board certified in surgery and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.  He received his residency training at New York University and his fellowship training in Advanced Minimally-invasive procedures and Bariatric Surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center.  Dr. Silberstein specializes in advanced minimally-invasive surgery, surgical weight loss procedures: laparoscopic gastric bypass and banding, as well as herniorraphy and robotics. He has been engaged in research and presented at the American College of Surgeons Annual Clinical Congress and the Vascular Surgery Seminar and Clinical Vascular Annual Meeting and is published.
	Peggy Coll, NP, is the Nurse Manager of the new Sound Shore Advanced Orthopedic and Bariatric Suite. A registered nurse for 27 years, Peggy continued her studies and in 2007 graduated from the College of New Rochelle with an advanced nursing degree -  Nurse Practitioner. Instrumental in starting the Bariatric Program, Peggy's experience and expertise will be of great benefit to patients recovering from surgery.
	Roberta Wright, NP, has been the Program Director for the Surgical Weight Loss Program since 2010.  Before coming to Sound Shore, Roberta worked for 12 years at the Family Health & Wellness Center at Mount Vernon Hospital.  She has 26 years of experience in health care, the past 13 years as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner.  Roberta has been an adjunct clinical faculty member for The College of New Rochelle as well as The College of Mount Saint Vincent's Nurse Practitioner's Programs for 10 years.  She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a National Honor Society for Nursing and a member of the Board of Directors for the Valhalla Ambulance Corps.
	Judy Gallicano is our Program Facilitator. She is a long-time member of the Bariatric Team and is very knowledgeable about insurance verification and the referral process necessary for insurance authorization. She will assist you, from inception to successful completion, in coordinating many of the pre-operative appointments required of the bariatric patient.
